Explore Berlin Through a Shared Polaroid

PolaWalk is a community photo walk organised by Berlin Photo Studio with Polaroid and Safelight Berlin. It is open to beginners, photographers, visitors and anyone curious about creating instant photographs with other people.

Participants walk in groups of four and share one Polaroid Go camera. Creative themes and prompts encourage each group to slow down, observe Berlin and decide together when a moment deserves a physical photograph.

Next Event

Saturday, 12 September 2026 at 15:00

Start: Safelight Berlin

Finish: Photo Studio Berlin

At the end of the walk, join us for live painting by Julia Burmeister and a DJ set by Beatrice Testa. Free beer will be available for everyone taking part in the event.

The event is free and limited to a maximum of 100 participants. Availability is shown by the live event option.

  • Use of a shared Polaroid Go camera
  • A Polaroid Go film pack for the event
  • Approximately 8–10 photographs per participant
  • Guided community photo walk through Berlin

How It Works

1. Meet at Safelight Berlin

Meet us at 15:00 for an introduction to the event, the creative themes and the people who will share your camera.

2. Share the camera

Each group of four uses one Polaroid Go camera and the provided film. Sharing the camera is part of the PolaWalk experience.

3. Explore and photograph

Walk through Berlin together and create instant photographs inspired by the themes and the city around you.

4. Finish at Photo Studio Berlin

Return with your photographs, meet the community and compare the different interpretations while enjoying live painting by Julia Burmeister, a DJ set by Beatrice Testa and free beer.

5. Submit to the fanzine

You may submit as many photographs as you want within one month of the event. Three winners are selected for each edition’s fanzine. Other eligible participants who submit receive a discount.

Read the open-call rules and submit your Polaroids →

6. Win a Polaroid Go camera

Just like at the last PolaWalk, we will select one participant to win a new Polaroid Go camera.

Your PolaWalk Go Card

Bring your Go Card back whenever you participate. It records the PolaWalk editions you have joined and turns the recurring events into a personal visual diary.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable shoes
  • Your phone
  • Your Go Card, if you already have one

The Polaroid Go cameras and film are provided.
