1-to-1 Wine & Darkroom Workshop Berlin – Shoot, Develop, Print & Drink

1-to-1 Wine & Darkroom Workshop Berlin is a private, hands-on analogue photography experience that takes you through the full journey from taking a photograph to holding your own handmade black-and-white print—accompanied by a glass of wine in the relaxed atmosphere of Berlin Photo Studio.

You will shoot a black-and-white film, develop it by hand, create a contact sheet, choose an image, and make a silver gelatin print in our darkroom. No previous darkroom experience is required: the complete process is guided step by step and adapted to your level.

From Shooting to a Handmade Darkroom Print

Photography normally ends on a screen. Here, the image travels the full circle: camera, film, chemistry, enlarger and paper. During the private session you will learn:

• How to load and use a 35mm film camera
• How to expose black-and-white film with intention
• How to develop the film by hand
• How developer, stop bath and fixer work
• How to make and read a contact sheet
• How to use a darkroom enlarger
• How to determine exposure with test strips
• How contrast filters shape the final image
• How to produce, wash and dry a silver gelatin print

No. The workshop is beginner-friendly and every stage is demonstrated before you do it yourself.

Do I need to bring a camera?
No. You can use one of our 35mm cameras; let us know in advance so we can prepare it.

No. A non-alcoholic alternative is always available. Alcohol is served only to participants of legal drinking age.

Will I take my print home?
Yes. You will create at least one handmade black-and-white silver gelatin print to keep.

How is the date arranged?
