Professional artwork reproduction for artists, galleries, curators and institutions in Berlin. We photograph paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, framed works and mixed-media pieces with controlled lighting, careful geometry and a colour-managed workflow.

This service is available by custom quote only. The final quote depends on the number of artworks, dimensions, surface, reflections, location, intended use, deadline and required retouching.

What is included per flat artwork?

• One finished, straight-on master reproduction of the complete artwork
• Controlled studio lighting and colour-reference capture
• Basic perspective, crop, tonal and colour correction
• One high-resolution TIFF for print or archive
• One web-ready JPEG for websites, submissions and social media

The TIFF and JPEG are two file formats from the same finished photograph. Additional angles are normally unnecessary for flat artwork.

How we prepare your quote

Every artwork and collection is different. We prepare the quote after reviewing the works, the desired result and the practical setup required.

• Single artwork: quoted according to size, material, surface, framing and final use
• Multiple artworks: arranged as one collection quote when the works can share the same capture setup
• Complex works: glass, metallic surfaces, strong texture, unusual dimensions or extensive post-production are assessed individually
• Large collections: can be organised as a half-day, full-day or multi-day production

Photographing several compatible works during the same session is usually more efficient, and this is reflected in the final quote.

In-studio artwork reproduction

Works that can be transported safely can be photographed at Berlin Photo Studio. This option gives us full control over lighting, camera position, colour reference and the surrounding environment.

The studio option is suitable for paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, framed pieces, portfolios and small to medium-sized collections.

On-location artwork photography

For oversized, fragile, installed or difficult-to-transport works, we can bring the equipment to your studio, gallery, home or exhibition space.

The quote can include equipment setup, travel, access time, assistants, additional lighting, the number of artworks and the expected production time. Locations outside Berlin are available by arrangement.

Three-dimensional artworks and extra photographs

Sculptures, objects and installations need more than one viewpoint. As a starting point, we recommend four finished views per piece: front, back and two three-quarter angles. The exact number is agreed before the shoot.

Detail photographs, additional angles, advanced retouching, colour proof prints, catalogue layouts and PDF design can be added to the custom quote when required.

What to send for your quote

Please include the number of artworks, approximate dimensions, material or surface, whether they are framed or behind glass, studio or on-location preference, intended use, deadline and a few reference photos. We will reply with the recommended scope, deliverables and total quote before booking.

How many photographs do I receive per artwork?

For a flat artwork, the standard service includes one finished front-facing reproduction, delivered as a high-resolution TIFF and a web-ready JPEG. Sculptures and objects usually require four or more views.

Do you arrange a different quote for several artworks?

Yes. When several works can share the same lighting and capture setup, we prepare one collection quote based on the complete production rather than treating every piece as a separate booking.

Can you photograph artwork behind glass?

Yes, but glass and reflective surfaces can require additional lighting control and post-production. Send a reference photo so we can include the correct setup in the quote.

Can you work at my gallery, studio or home?

Yes. On-location artwork reproduction is available throughout Berlin and by arrangement outside the city.

Are the colours guaranteed to look identical everywhere?

We use a colour-managed workflow to create a reliable master file. The final appearance can still vary between uncalibrated screens, printers, papers and viewing light.
