The C41 Film Development Workshop is a private 1&1 hands-on workshop in Berlin where you learn how to develop, scan, and understand your own color film.
This is not a workshop where you just stand and watch. You bring your own C41 film rolls, we guide you step by step, and you do the process yourself. You handle the film, prepare the workflow, develop the negatives, dry them, scan them, and convert them into final digital images.
Color film can feel like magic when you only see the final scans. But once you understand the process, it becomes something more concrete. You start seeing what happens between the moment you finish a roll and the moment the image appears on your screen.
This workshop is made for people who shoot color film and want more independence, more knowledge, and more confidence. No theory overload. Just real practice, real chemistry, real film, and your own images.
During this C41 film development workshop in Berlin, you go through the full color film workflow:
Please bring:
We provide the chemistry, development tools, scanner access, basic materials, and step-by-step guidance during the workshop.
After the workshop, you leave with:
You do not only learn the process.
You do it with your own hands.
This workshop is perfect for you if:
You do not need previous lab experience. You only need exposed C41 film rolls and the will to learn.
This workshop is only for standard C41 color negative film. It is not for black and white film, ECN-2 cinema film, E6 slide film, or damaged/unknown rolls.
Results can depend on how the film was shot, stored, exposed, and handled before development. If the camera did not expose the film correctly, or if the film was damaged before development, the workshop will still teach you the process, but the final images may vary.
C41 development requires attention to temperature, timing, and safe chemical handling. During the workshop, you will be guided through the process carefully.
