The Polaroid Model 80A is a folding instant roll-film camera produced from 1957 to 1959. Known as the “Highlander,” it represents an early chapter of consumer instant photography, long before Polaroid integral film and modern cartridge-based cameras.

Its folding bellows, metal construction and distinctive 1950s design make it an appealing object for collectors, set designers, photographers and anyone building a display of photographic history.

Important film compatibility notice

This camera does not use currently produced Polaroid 600, SX-70, i-Type, Go or pack film. It was designed for Polaroid 30-series instant roll film, which has been discontinued for decades. Original film occasionally appears as expired collector stock but should not be expected to produce usable photographs.

For that reason, this camera is offered primarily as a collectible, decorative or conversion project, not as a ready-to-shoot instant camera.

Condition and availability

In Stock: the photographs show the actual camera. It has visible age-related cosmetic wear, marks and discoloration on the front housing, wear to the strap hardware and general signs of previous use. The bellows appear present and the camera opens and displays well, but film functionality cannot be meaningfully tested with currently available material.

Pre-Order: we source another Model 80A for you. Because these cameras are approximately seventy years old, cosmetic condition, serial number and included accessories will vary. We will provide condition photographs before final dispatch whenever possible.
