Questions, answered

ECN-2 FAQ

What is the difference between ECN-2 and C-41?

ECN-2 is intended for motion-picture colour negative film and includes remjet removal. C-41 is the standard process for consumer colour negative film. Choose ECN-2 when you want cinema stock processed in its intended chemistry.

What is remjet?

Remjet is a dark anti-halation and protective backing used on many cinema films. It needs to be removed correctly and should not be sent through a standard minilab without confirmation.

Which formats can you process?

Standard 135, 135 half-frame, panoramic 135, 120 medium format and 4×5 large format are available in the live service options.

Can you push or pull ECN-2 film?

Yes. Push and pull processing costs an additional €2. Select the adjustment while ordering and label the roll clearly.

How long does processing take?

The usual turnaround is 3–5 working days. Complex orders or unusually high lab volume can require additional time.

Should I choose JPEG or TIFF?

JPEG is ready to share and suitable for most workflows. TIFF is less compressed and offers more room for extensive editing and high-quality printing. See our other scanning services.
