How to Package Film Rolls for Shipping

Film rolls protected with bubble wrap before shipping

Use two layers: a sealed inner bag for the rolls and a durable outer package for transport.

Loose rolls inside paper envelopes can escape if the envelope tears. Excessive tape can also damage labels and backing paper.

What to know

  • Group rolls by order
  • Label push or special process separately
  • Keep 120 backing paper tight
  • Protect protruding leaders
  • Add contact information inside
  • Avoid excessive heat before posting

Development and scanning

Package damaged, wet or unknown film separately and contact the lab first.
