Film development and scanning

The lab processes C-41 colour negative film, ECN-2 cinema film, conventional black-and-white film, E-6 colour reversal film and selected black-and-white reversal films. Accepted formats include 110, 135/35mm, half-frame, panoramic 35mm, APS, 120, 220, 4×5 and selected special formats.

Standard C-41, ECN-2 and black-and-white orders usually take 3–5 working days. E-6 and Scala usually take 7–10 working days. Options vary by process and can include develop only, JPEG scans, TIFF scans, push or pull processing, local collection and negative return.

Film can be delivered to the Berlin-Wedding shop or mailed from Germany and other European countries. Current prices and available options are always shown on the live service products.

How the scans are made

Berlin Photo Studio prepares neutral digital files designed to preserve information from the negative and leave room for later editing. The lab uses a camera-based scanning workflow rather than presenting the files as Noritsu or Frontier minilab scans.

Workshops, products and community

The studio offers practical workshops in film development, darkroom printing, cyanotype, Polaroid processes and related photographic techniques. It also sells film, cameras and accessories, prepares small-batch film rolls in Berlin and organizes community events such as PolaWalk and Analog Café.
